It really has been a long time since I last post so here I am again. Well, I went over to Singapore with Eric C, visiting the area, looking at some college and not to forget out, shopping of course. XD

Woah, really have to thank Eric C for bringing around the area, helping me over n over again.  Thank man. Well, I m going to show u one of SG college, Lasalle!  =)

Quiksilver Packaging

Well, I guess this will be last assignment I am gonna post up on here for this year. This is my final assignment for Graphic Design 2, where I am asked to design and create a new packaging from the brand you choose. In the beginning, I am doing a Nestle product with Eric Chih but some problems arise when we can't get what we want from each other. So we go for solo in the end then I decided to do this Quiksilver product. My concept here is 'Quiksilver, Apply It Anywhere!". I am not gonna talk about the design thing here cause it will take a lot of time.

 

In the end, I managed to finish it up on time but the main problem is the big box things that carry all my 6 packaging. Due the box being too big and in order to fix in all my six packaging, the perspex have to gonna be the same size as the big box so that it can only fit properly. Besides that , the box is gonna be larger than A2 size so the perspex which is on the side is not strong enuff to hold the water thus making one side of the box look quite weird! The other side which filled with 1/4 of sand work well. The picture will let u guy understand more later.

Well, who I have to thank here is of course the people from the printing shop who are Chee Shing and Alex, it is great knowing them as they always give me the best quality of printing and giving me some tips on what should I do with it when I print out. Whenever I have any difficulties section in the packaging, the boss will always come over to help me over with it. Some more, even provide me a free ride to go home! Isn't this such an amazing printing shop. Well, their shop name is 'Color Conception'. And not forgot out also David, who have to wake up early on my presentation day to come over and pick me up to university, wanna really thank him, having another good frenz like him! Sacrifice his sleep for me! Lastly not forget Eric Chih also for giving the font of Quiksilver, saving my time on this assignment rather than going to create myself and also I wanna thank to some of frenz for supporting me and my design. THANK A LOT TO U GUY!

My FInal Typography Assignment (Cartoon Network)

Well, yet another assignment done n just left the framing part and it is a done case. When the lecturer first brief me on this assignment, he show us some sample, mainly most of things is done by hand such as doing calendar, using tin can or wire can to make a letter and etc to promote the font. So I wanna do something that is completely different from what he show me if it is possible so during one nith, I keep thinking, wat should I do, suddenly photography struck my mind, I decided to do something with photography and typography together. Then the next question is wat I should I do with it, when I was about to sleep, Cartoon Network struck my mind and thus giving me all the idea wat I should do next, I came out with the concept 'Reality Come True'. This sentence is being used on Cartoon Network adv itself few years back ago. The typeface I choose is Myriad Pro! The concept simply reality is form when this font is applied!

So wat really my idea is to find a person or model and made him/her into a cartoon network characters then I would used the typo to create another person tht related to the person, the photo-shooting didnt take tht much time. Editing the part and drawing the vector is where I spent my time on! Well, hope u guy enjoy the photo! Model below: Eric Chih = Johnny Bravo, Minn = Dee Dee and Adora = Mandy!

My Photography Presentation

Finally, this will be the last presentation, after this presentation, all the heavy workload start decreasing already. Now left two more assignment to be done. OMG, wat worries me the most is the time is passing by too fast, school life and university is always the best times for having all the fun, sometimes I m really curious y ppl r so afraid of going to uni n rather spend thier time staying inside their own room. Maybe I just dun understand, hahahah! Nvm about tht, let get to the main topic, I was really glad to see all my frenz putting the effort in taking the photograph and also to see everyone of them improving day by day which is really a very good things. I will like congrats all my frenz on all thier assignment they done this semester! Without them, BPD 4 wouldn't be a such a great and yet extra-ordinary class. L'Oreal (Photography Final Assignment)

Woah, finally I m done with this assignment, feel so refreshed after all the chaos in taking the lips, well, 7 more assignment to go! Taking this lips were nvm easy especially the lighting part, some more have to torture my model for two days. I really have to thank AH HO for borrowing me the close-up filter, if not I may not be able to get tht type of clearness in the image, and of course a big THANK to STEF QUAH again! She really has been a good help to me all this while, skipping her class for the photo shoot and whenever I asked to do this n that, she will just do tht, thank again! It took me two days to complete taking all the pictures, the first day has been bad, I wanna her to bite the strawberry but the outcome of the photo isn't that nice, changing all over the placing the strawberry didn't has a nice outcome also and the time is running out fast so might as take again the next day. 

Next days, I changed to a new concept where I applied all those type of shinning stuff on her lips! The outcome did turn out something I liked. The most suffering is the editing part, being a raw file itself, it take up so many mb for one file thus making my laptop lag, luckily still able to cope with it. Well, I don't feel like typing already, still tons of assignment to do, will let the pictures do the taking. Enjoyz!  =)

BUSY WEEK!

It has been quite some time since I last post, tht is due to the heavy workloads given by the lecturer. I needed to start my works as early as possible due to the fact that I really hate last minutes work. So during this few weeks, my room is packed with of packaging stuff, paper, boxes and not to forget out, lot of PERSPEX! My room is becoming more congested day by day, hope I can get all this things clear out by week 15. 

During this few days, frenz has being asking me to show them my packaging but I haven't really finish it yet so I decided to take some photo of which I have done and show it here. =)

with my packaging stuff, luckily I have a second table to work on! =)

OMG, during this few weeks, I spend most of my time on assignment only, no time for entertainment at all, it is like living in world with assignment onli! My god, but since I have a hour free now so I decided to post up the post I should have post long ago! Adora keep asking me when so at least now I have the precious time to upload it.

It was a Computer Graphic assignment where we are suppose to do a photo montage of ourself or someone else showing what is going to happen to us in future time, I think it is something like this for the topic. =) So I was rushing this project for few days already and the outcome is really s**k, but since I know I will re-do it again no matter wat happened so I decided not deleted this file first. Then the next day, when I reach uni, Adora keep saying she wanna see mine since she show me her one liao, then she keep laughing here and there stating the pciture is VERY CUTE, I was like wth, hahahahahah, then came Eric Chih and Miin, they say cute also. Later onto the day, Tze Yee say cute also! *pengsan*

Since they say it is cute, it would be really bad if I didn't do them a picture of them in the montage thing. So, I did them a free picture, "IT IS FREE GUY"! hahahahahaha ><

Now, I really know why they say cute already! Isn't is cute? =)

Outdoor Fashion Shooting

That garden is really a very nice area for taking pictures but there is something that keep obstructing me from taking some pictures at some area due to there is a lots of tree there, making it impossible for the sunlight to shine onto Stef's face thus making some of the picture quite dark. Then David said there is still a park around his house there where got really nice too, so we decided to move to that area n give it another try again. I really have to thank David for this two days bringing us here n there, helping us at some point, thank man! =)

Then by the time we reach Desa Park City, the weather is getting hotter n hotter thus making the model hard to shoot again, she is finding it hard to open the eye due to the brightness of the sun, so we have to find another area around there, then do the shooting at different area but the best part is when we get to a platform where is there is a nice background and clear big window in front window in front of here so Stef can used the window to try do some pose which suits her before I start taking pictures of it. Finally, I managed to get everything done bfr the sun got hotter then off we go and have our dim sum! It is always nice to eat with old frenz. =)

The picture tht lecturer approve, even-though there is a lot of noise on the face, but the lecturer keep insisting to used this photo for the magazine layout. =)

Night Outdoor Model Shooting

As for the nith outdoor model shooting section, first of all, I was planning for a morning shooting at some garden park but Stef Quah says trying at night would be nicer and more special. Since it is not that easy shooting at night especially when u wanna get a clear shot on the face. But since I am in Kepong alderi, y dun give it a try. During that Thursday night, David bring us to the Curve there cause I want my background to have a lot high buildings, on the way walking to the Curve from the car park, it was quite embarrassing cause we have carry all sort of stuff, from a big reflector to tripod and all Stef punya extra accessories, some more we are not professional yet, hahaha. When we reach there, it was raining, at one point, Stef has to stand under the rain with an umbrella of course for 30 seconds without moving cause the light there is not bright enuff, some more I can't shoot so close to her since it is raining. The most frustrating thing is I dun know y there is still a lot noise on her face even-though my ISO is onli 100 - 200, I jus dun get it. So during that nith, no many clear picture were managed to catch due to a lot of reasons but since it was just a try out onli, at least I still learn something. =)

This is shot between the Curve and Cineleisure Mall, so many ppl walking around making it so hard to shoot! =)

We shoot here for so long! This is the part where the noise occur but I really want to thank Stef for her patient in waiting and keep posing all over n over agian. Thank a lot ya! =)

  

Model Shooting!

The assignment for my next photography module, model shooting! After learning the basic of the studio lighting, we are suppose to used all that for the model shooting. Shooting in the studio is divided into two different type of categories which are the high key and the low key. The other option is that you can shoot outdoor too. So I choose one photo to be shoot in studio and the other one on the outdoor. As for the model, I find one of my old classmates Stef Quah (elephant) for the role of the model. So I start the shooting during the raya break inside Atudio 3. So as usual, she was late for the shooting! In the beginning, there was already 6-7 lights ready, so I try to test the lighting first along with shooting some photo. After taking few pictures, I go over n ask Ah Hok, is this consider high key n any other area need to be repaired. He say the left side tone's color is not that great, so he bring over another 2 lights and ask me attached it again. Woah, I was like, 9 lights, wth.............. then I tried again to shoot again, the tone do appeared more perfectly on both side. So I began with my first model shooting, shoot! shoot! shoot! ...................... By the way, I have to thank Shern Ai for helping Stef with the posing and other stuff, thank ya! And not to forget, I want to thank Stef Quah too for being my model, thank a lot ya! =)

And Again! 

Fire On Ice!

Now for the assignment of the Photography, we are ordered to take two picture of model, either in studio or outdoor, and a picture of still-life thing. So, I started off with taking the picture of still life first as my model is not free at all until Raya Break.........

Firstly, my intention is to capture a candle tht has water lighted on top of it instead of fire. The concept is to have four candles, with three candles lighted with fire and the other one with a drop of water lighted on top of it........ This was the hardest photo I have taken in my life at this point.... Finally I managed to catch it after shooting more 100 photos of it just to get a perfect one but in the end I drop this idea as too much of photo manipulations is needed for it, somemore the result doesn't look so good compare to the one I wanted to take in the first place.

So another idea struck while I m doing my research on fire, then I decided to shoot fire tht is lighted on top of the ice. On Thursday, after my Design Heritage class, I rushed over to the photo lab to set up all the lighting equipment before getting ready to shoot. I asked Eric Chih to come over help me when he is finished eating with his gf. After taking some time to get the correct light reflect on the ice, I start shooting liao. As the ice melt very fast inside the studio, I have to keep asking Joanne to bring me a new cup of ice. Thank Joanne for all this trouble..... Then come Eric Chih who keep helping me arrange the ice in a more nicer way n keep everything in a more perspective way! He really has been a great help to me all this while, thank bro! Then it was during the last moment of the shooting where Eric Chih pour a big bottle of ice onto the per-spec for me to get a final shoot of it. Actually the lecturer alderi approve the photo but I was not so happy with the result, then it was the last photo tht I shoot that it really satisfy me at least! Then my lecturer have look at it n decided that the last photo is better than the previous so I choose tht as my still-life assignment. By the way, the model shooting is coming up next! Dun miss it yeah! =)

My Book Conceptual 'MARVEL SUPERHEROES IDENTITY'

My first assignment for my Graphic Design is to create a book with at least 40 pages inside excluding all the contents n introduction part. After thinking for some time, I decided to choose MARVEL as my topic due to the reason I m being a Marvel's fan myself. Whenever I designed the things I like, I will automatically add in more effort n desire in doing it, wells tht's me. ><

Supposedly, my topic will be "Marvel Superheores Biodata but ERiC CHiH say that using the word "Identity' look more professional so I tried to apply it n it really do sound nicer n professional, hahahahaha. Thank ya! The layout inside about the Marvel's identity is mostly the same as I try to make it easy for both kids and adult to read n enjoy it. I applied the photo montage things for almost 99% inside the book, every picture is being edited n I jus enjoy doing it. Besides jus creating the book, I also printed my main Marvel's design on the shirt. Then lastly I created a packaging for it, I try to make the packaging look like a file and also have a function of it so people can use it too. Well, I will let te picture do all talking.......... enjoyzzzzzzzz =)
